How to register a new Skype Account

1, Registering on Skype web site online

There are two ways of registering or creating a new account in Skype, 1 by visiting the Skype web site

https://skype.com/ and clicking Join Us or click the following link to directly go to registration page https://login.skype.com/account/signup-form.

Fill the following information as demanded and click “I Agree –Continue”. If your profile name worked, you will be taken to your main page where you can adjust other settings as you want. If you have not download Skype for your pc, then you can download at that level, though that most not be the usual process of downloading Skype, but that works much better since you are recognized as a registered member.

It is recommended to download Skype for your PC, ells you might not be able to log in and chat with your online contacts. Viewing Skype online will not show you available contact neither will you be able to chat through it. This process is only for registering to get an Id to use in the Pc version, or any other futures. If you registered either on Skype web site or the PC version, you can login from any of them, depending what you want to do.

Registering through Skype web site is some how better to me. At the web site, you can register and get and email responds immediately, asking you to confirm, but registering through the installed Skype on your computer might take a longer time to get you through.

Another way of registering is by lunching Skype from your computer, already installed. This method is simple and easy to access, but not as fast as visiting the web site directly and personally clicking Join Us.

2, Registering through the installed version on PC

                                     First step

Double click the Skype icon on your computers Desktop, or Start Menu or right click and choose open from the menu, then wait for a while as it opens.

You might be prompted to login, instead of Sign Up. With an installed version of Skype, it opens with the 

name of the person that uses or lastly logged in and demands for a password to continue, but for your own case, you are registering and cannot Sign In anyway.

Just bellow the Skype name (user name) input box, click “Don’t have a Skype Name?”

Fill in the correct information in the                                       
page provided. Click “I Agree – Create Account”. Skype will load and 

with this information displayed,

                                                            “Checking your Skype name is available”

If the name you choose cannot be used just as it is, Skype will add numbers and suggest for you to choose the one you like, for example. If your user id was pfortoda and can’t just be used as single as it is, Skype will add pfortoday44, pfortoday754, which is now you on choice to choose. If you do not want any of them, then there is still a box bellow the suggested names where you can re-enter a new name or modify the previews, for example. Pfortoday_pfortoday, pfortoday.pfortoday, p_fortoday, p.fortoday, and you should be able to get one of them working for your profile. You can now add a profile picture, add your profile description, search, add and talk to friends.

Note: If you used a wrong or and email that does not exist, you might not be able to Sign in after signing out. Skype sends registration confirmation message to the emails provided during registration, where you will click to confirm your account. If you used a wrong email, Skype will not deny you access from registering, but the problem is now yours. You might be able to login anyway, but if there is a problem with your account, you will equally have no emails to ask Skype to send information to. You will have no emails to receive notifications or reset your password, in case you decided to change the current password.

Choosing a Skype name

 The Skype name you fill is the one people will recognize you as, so if you gave a wrong name people will refer you for someone ells or you will not be found at all, so be sure to fill in the right information.
