What is Defragmenting, how does it help, how do i access it?

What is De-fragmenting, how does it help, how do i access it?

De-fragmenting a computer is a great and important tool for those who know what effects De-fragmenting bring to their PCs.
First of all, let’s know what is De-fragmenting? (Of software) Reducing the fragmentation of (a file) by rearranging parts stored in separate locations on a disk.
From that definition you should already understand something by now. “Reducing the fragmentation of a file by rearranging parts stored in separate locations on a disk.” A lot of people have just no idea what De-fragmenting helps to do, some do not even know there is a tool of such, and some think it should be best left for computer scientists, which is not so to be. You are going to understand what exactly De-fragmenting is all about, right here.
Let me tell you what happens to files on your computer, and what it might be the outcome of these files being fragmented.
When computer files are fragmented, they are typically disorganized and in the wrong places, this can cause the system to run slowly and to experience processing problems. Processing files becomes very difficult for your computer, since it has to go long ways searching for files all over the Hard Drive. As you frequently run installations, uninstall, delete and restore files, move files from folders to others, the system files are also adjusted to fit the empty spaces left out. This does not sick permissions from the user, but doses this automatically, so you cannot be accused of fragmenting your files, but you will be damned for allowing these files stay in separate places. It’s just like telling your hard disk- I don’t care where ever you collect the files; all I need are my programs running. If you haven’t De-fragmented you computer since you started using it, then have in mind that it’s for the reason that the computer sometimes freezes and might not even gain stability till you have to forcefully hard boot the computer.
As the overall size of disk drives keeps increasing, De-fragmenting a computer regularly may even help to increase its life-span. A system needs to work quite hard in order to collect fragmented information across larger and larger disks. Considering the amount of work this takes, it seems likely that De-fragmenting can help a hard drive last significantly longer.
Take for example if the computer had to pass through the following procedures when its files are all in place. Saying that the computer had to lunch folder1 then folder2 then folder3 and folder4 which is the final ground where it rests and you start doing your work. And it happened that your computer’s files are fragmented and scattered all over the driver, this will be the process of lunching programs. Remember folder 1 to 4 is in line and has to come that way in its normal life.
This is how it looks like when your Hard Disk is fragmented. Instead of folder 1 then folder 2, comes folder 1 then folder 3 then folder 2 then folder 4 and maybe a duplicate of folder 1 again. At this stage the computer has to search all the way in the Hard Disk to fetch files and try to put them in real other, but will it succeed all the times? It’s all left to you, fragment and save yourself the embarrassment.
Bellow is an Image guide, how to locate a De-fragmenting tool in windows.

                                                                 for windows xp users

Windows 7
                                                            Schedule De-fragmentation

De-fragmenting while the computer is running, or while you use the computer can be somehow stressing your PC, so you can also schedule a De-fragment to run later, based on your schedule configuration, and you are done.

You can also run the following to code to clean your system of any errors. After running this command line, you will notice a change in your pc.

Open Run from start Menu or press Windows+R
Type :cmd + ENTER
Type : CD\ + ENTER
Type : YOUR DRIVE LETTER, ( F:, E:, G:, H:...) + ENTER
Type : attrib -h -r -s /s /d F:\*.*  + ENTER
Wait till your drive letter F:\ returns to the line.
Remember to change F: for your drive letter, mostly C:. Almost every computer runs system files on drive C:, so drive C: should be your target.

Reboot your computer and you are done.
Good luck.
