How to Hide folders in windows XP Professional

Hiding folders is a great and very important tool in windows XP Professional. With this tool, you can be able to hide and keep secrete folders. If you have discovered someone reading even your restricted files, and you do not like the idea. Asking them not to read them is not enough, since you will not be able to track down everything happening in your computer in your absence. Windows XP Professional has made it very easy to make folders hidden and visible again.

Bellow i shall be showing you a step by step tutorial.

Hiding Folders

1. Right click on the folder you wish to hide and click properties from the drop down menu.
2. Un-check the Read Only and Check the hidden option at the bottom of the folder properties.
  The folder is hidden, Weldon.
Don't forget this. If you hide a folder while the read only option is checked, the folder becomes a little transparent, but still visible and can only be read, but no changes can be made, so don't forget to have it unchecked
Now you have your folder hidden, how do you bring it back? that's the most problem people face hiding folders. You will not be able to Un-hide a hidden folder you cant fine isn't it? of course yes. Its simple.

Unhiding Hidden Folders.

First of all, open any windows explorer page, for example (My Computer or My Document). In the tool menu, click the Tools tab. Choose folder options from the drop down and click View in the menu that opens.
In the scroll area bellow, scroll to find the Show Hidden Files and Folder option and click.
Your folders are unhidden, but they wont pup up till you Apply and click OK. Once you are done with the above process, you are done with the whole thing, so you can go through the same procedure to hid and unhide other different folders.

I have done this several times and it did work pretty well. Incas you have any trouble hiding or unhiding, then you can always post here for help.

I have not tried in windows 7 or 8, but i think it will work same for windows 7. Will soon get them up here.
GOOD LUCK.
