How to hide and un-hide icons in system tray

How to hide and un-hide icons in system tray

If you have icons filling up your system tray unnecessarily, you can decide which of them are viewed and at what time. On most computers i have seen with individuals, their system tray is always filled up with almost every program that can be placed in system tray. System tray can be used to hold some programs that can easily or mostly viewed, like Yahoo Messenger, Volume Control, Date and Time, Local Area Connection.

If you noticed your system tray occupied by unnecessary programs you can either remove or hide the ones you don't need.

Right click on task bar and choose properties.
Choose customize to view more options.
Under Current Items, click each program at extreme right to view more options for each program.

In the drop down, you have three options to choose either:

- Hide when inactive
- Always hide
- Always show

Choosing any of them will take an immediate effect. Click Ok to save changes, and you are done.
